Thing happened Last week really shocking.
At least 3 babies died from the tainted baby formula, the number of infants suffering its consequences across the country has risen almost five times to 6,244,as we know later by government,a chemical called melamine was added to the baby formula to increase the quantity of protein. This chemical is poisionous and caused kidney stones
Up till now, sanlu ceo was arrested, mayor of Shijiazhuang was fired, some 26 suspicions was arrested too, but that is not over. later, liquid milk incuding some famous brands was found contaminated by the same chemical .now we are all worried about drinking milk 
actually quality and safety problem has been bothered Chinese peoplesince we step into the market economy. in 2004 around 200 babies in Anhui alone were fed formula milk of little nutritional value, at least 13 babies was killed.
In my point of view 3 problems caused this disaster
    First, and the most important, Producers trying to cut costs often dilute milk with water, which lowers the nutritional content. But the addition of melamine, which is high in nitrogen, helps the milk appear to meet nutrition standards by artificially raising its protein count.
Second, as some famous brand compete furiously, the milk companies bagan an expanding race in domestic market. However, the administration and quality control cannot follow the expanding speed, they are in fact taking a risk .risk means a unpredicted fail in some day. 
Third, government lack supervision in food industry, a lot of food companies have a brand of mianjian, which means the products exempt from government inspection. Usually companies paid a little money to exemption from inspection
The whole incident is undoubtly disappointing and annoying to all of Chinese citizens, but from a positive side, maybe this is a great opportunity for a change.
When we look back to a hundred years ago, when usa began food industrial production, they ever had a shameful history, but American people and government construct a efficient solution :public and government corporate together to inspect food safety.
I am looking for one day , we will not bother food safety and may the victim blessed by god.
