just a short story (copyright j.h.) that came to my mind last night...

It was a cold and rainy night. Already tired, I was sitting in my study, the tiny window open to the street. Nobody was outside, only some stray dogs looked for some food. Poor creatures! Who cared for them? The final exam was in 3 days and my head felt empty like a poor mans rice bowl. I could remember nothing and I couldn’t concentrate on the preparation I was supposed to do.

My thoughts circled away in a forbidden direction. But it felt good to taste the fruit behind the fence. What my mother would think if she knew? It is impossible I had to tell myself. Not now! Later. But when? After years of study?

Her life was not easy. She was busy in the next room. Doing the dishes. Caring for me. Worrying. Oh mother!

She knocked. I saw her body in the door. “Good night” she said. “And please finish all the prepararions you have to do today. You know, the exam!”

“Yes mum”

When she had closed the door the scroll fell off the wall. I put the nail back into the hole and hung the scroll at the old place. It was a painting from Master Zhu, grandftaher had told me. He was old when he painted it. I looked at it: The mountains of our home province, the river like a snake in between and the temple on top of the hill. And the path down to the valley. I took the first step up. The soft autumn breece gently touched my face. Leafs falling. I went up, came closer and closer to the temple.

I took a deep breath and stepped in.

Interessant ! Es klingt wie ein chinesischer Junge,(er muss viel für Teste tun.)oder ?Und Wer ist Master Zhu? Ich freue mich auf Deine weite Geschichte.
